In July of this year, total revenue generated by tourist accommodation in Madeira rose by 5.8% year-on-year, reaching €101.8 million.
Room revenue also saw an increase of 4.5%, totaling €74 million.
Data released by the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM) reveal that, last month, the number of overnight stays rose by 2.2%, reaching 1,342.6 thousand (1.3 million).
A total of 247.4 thousand guests checked in, an increase of 0.4%. The hotel sector accounted for the majority (64.2%) of overnight stays (862.2 thousand), followed by local accommodation (33.8% of the total), while rural tourism accounted for just 2%.
For the reference month, revenue per available room (RevPAR) across all tourist accommodation stood at approximately €127.05, an increase of 1.7% compared to the same month last year. Meanwhile, the average daily rate (ADR) for tourist accommodation rose from €146.28 in July 2025 to €155.14 (a 6.1% year-on-year change).
Regarding the first half of this year, the total number of guests checking into tourist accommodation in the region reached 1.4861 million (1.5 million), representing a 5.8% increase compared to the same period last year. Overnight stays also saw a 2.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025, totaling 7.5 million.
