The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) forecasts generally very cloudy skies for today in our archipelago, gradually decreasing cloud cover from mid-morning onwards, especially on the southern slopes of Madeira Island.
Periods of light rain or light showers are expected until late morning, particularly on the northern slopes and highlands of Madeira Island. The wind will blow weakly to moderately (10 to 30 km/h) from the northeast, occasionally strong (up to 40 km/h) at the eastern and western extremes of Madeira Island and in the highlands.
Temperatures will range between 22 and 28 degrees Celsius on Madeira Island and between 22 and 27 degrees Celsius on Porto Island.
In the Funchal area, the sky will generally appear very cloudy, gradually becoming partly cloudy from mid-morning onwards. Winds will be light (less than 15 km/h).
Regarding sea conditions, there will be northeast waves of 1 to 1.5 meters in height along the north coast, and waves of less than 1 meter along the south coast.
The sea water temperature will be around 24–25°C.
