The Madeira Archipelago is today under the influence of a depression that meteorologists have named Laurence, which means that it may not be a good day for the usual family outings, but rather to stay at home, but always pay attention to the weather conditions and possible consequences around you.
According to the IPMA forecast for this Sunday, March 16, 2025, the sky will be very cloudy, with clearings from mid-afternoon (it may be possible to go for a walk, but always with caution), but until then there will be periods of rain, sometimes heavy, turning into showers from mid-afternoon, more frequent on the northern slopes and in the highlands.
The TAP flight (TP 1709) from Porto, scheduled to arrive in Madeira at 8 am this Sunday, March 16, was cancelled due to the weather conditions felt in the archipelago. The respective outbound leg is also cancelled. Some other flights have diverted.
