At the same time the Diario reported that Madeira and Porto Santo are under yellow warning due to the forecast of wind and heavy rain on Thursday, reveals the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA)

The warning will be in effect between 9 am and 6 pm on Thursday, February 8th. 

In Porto Santo, as well as on the North and South coasts of Madeira, the wind will be from the Southwest with gusts of up to 80 km/h. In mountainous regions, gusts are expected to reach up to 100 km/h.

As for precipitation, it is expected to fall with great intensity during this period on the south coast of Madeira, as well as in the mountainous regions.
