Airport awarded maximum certification

Madeira International Airport is one of three Portuguese airports awarded maximum certification in carbon management, French concessionaire Vinci announced today.

“The airports of Madeira, Ponta Delgada, Beja and Toulon-Hyères, in France, all managed by Vinci Airports, are among the first 10 airports in the world to reach Level 5 of the Airport Carbon Accreditation program”, said the Portuguese airport concession company in a statement.

The information was released during the Global Sustainable Aviation Forum, an official COP 28 event dedicated to aviation sustainability.

A new, vastly improved “search” facility has been introduced allowing readers to search (box in the sidebar above) on any word or phrase used in any of the posts over the last sixteen years. Previously the search facility only returned matches on headings rather than the entire content. It remains to be seen whether this will slow the blog down – fingers crossed! If it works it should move the blog even further ahead of the increasing number of imitators, providing a huge resource for visitors and residents.
