The P&O Cruises cruise ship Aurora docked at 7:15 a.m. this Thursday morning in the Port of Funchal.

The cruise ship arrives from the Port of Southampton, in England, makes an 11-hour stopover in Madeira before setting sail for the Port of Saint John, in Canada.

Built in 2000, the ship Aurora sails under the Bermuda flag and is promoted as “exclusively for adults”.

The 270-metre-long and 33.6-metre-wide vessel has 962 cabins, 253 of which have sea views, 18 restaurants and bars, three lounges, as well as three swimming pools.

A new, vastly improved “search” facility has been introduced allowing readers to search (box in the sidebar above) on any word or phrase used in any of the posts over the last sixteen years. Previously the search facility only returned matches on headings rather than the entire content. It remains to be seen whether this will slow the blog down – fingers crossed! If it works it should move the blog even further ahead of the increasing number of imitators, providing a huge resource for visitors and residents.
