The Madeira Classical Orchestra will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Associação Amigos do Conservatório de Música da Madeira, with violinist Stefan Milenkovich and Maestro Andrea Barizza.

On Saturday, September 23rd, at 6:00 pm, at the Madeira Congress Centre, the Madeira Classical Orchestra will hold the Commemorative Concert for the 30th Anniversary of the AACMM.

“Through this partnership, between the Orquestra Clássica da Madeira, through its managing entity Associação Notas e Sinfonias Atlânticas, and AACMM, the artistic direction of the Orchestra highlights the importance of recognizing institutions that have demonstrated outstanding work in the cultural fabric of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

It should be noted that the Madeira Classical Orchestra has been associated with the celebrations of the Associação Amigos do Conservatório de Música da Madeira for thirty years”, says a statement.

This concert will be conducted by Maestro Andrea Barizza who, for the second time, will be in Madeira to direct the OCM.

A new, vastly improved “search” facility has been introduced allowing readers to search (box in the sidebar above) on any word or phrase used in any of the posts over the last sixteen years. Previously the search facility only returned matches on headings rather than the entire content. It remains to be seen whether this will slow the blog down – fingers crossed! If it works it should move the blog even further ahead of the increasing number of imitators, providing a huge resource for visitors and residents.

  1. I can hardly wait to be in residence on Madeira where I can enjoy a concert at an affordable price thanks to your government subsidization of the arts. So grateful!
