JM headlines that the Municipal authorities of Funchal (Câmara Municipal do Funchal) have acknowledged having received several complaints about alleged mistreatment by the homeless of the animals that accompany them (despite the police saying they had received no complaints). And they reveal to JM that a dozen animals have already been removed from homeless people living on the streets, but guarantees that most are in good condition.

Today’s edition also highlights the hottest June day ever. The Portuguese Weather Institute, IPMA, confirmed to JM that the temperature reached levels never before recorded in Funchal yesterday.

Thermometers in Funchal again reached, during the afternoon of this Tuesday, June 27, a new maximum: 38.7°C, the highest value ever recorded in the month of June.

This is the second record broken yesterday, as this Monday the thermometers had already reached 37.9°C, in the update made at 4:00 pm. 

The forecast maximum temperature today is 35°C.

  1. Great news for a few of the dogs that have been rescued now we need a plan to keep humans safe from these drug addicts and their not all homeless.
