Regional Secretary visits today

Ninho da Manta viewpoint

The Diario features a report that if there are places that take your breath away, as they say, the Ninho da Manta viewpoint is one of them, located a few metres from the beginning of Vereda do Areeiro (PR1), one of the most iconic pedestrian trails in the Region.

Today it will be visited by the regional secretary for the Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change, Susana Prada, underlining the attention that the Madeiran executive has given to the points that most highlight the nature of the archipelago. The visit is scheduled for 11:30 am.

It is a must-visit place. Or better. Mandatory stop. Those who pass by cannot hide their charm and stay there, admiring the beauties of a stunning landscape.

“From the Ninho da Manta viewpoint, visitors can appreciate a substantial part of Madeira’s central mountain range. The landscape is dominated by rock formations, which often rise above the clouds. It is also in this area that the endemic species “Pterodroma madeira” nests, considered the most endangered sea bird in Europe”. Pterodroma madeira is also known by the common names of Madeira’s petrel, Zino’s petrel and Madeira’s stingray, a small seabird of the Procellariidae family , endemic to the island of Madeira – video below.

Every year there are thousands of publications on social networks about the Ninho da Manta viewpoint, as those who pass there, in an immensity of nationalities, record the moment and share it so as not to forget it.

    • You seem to leap to the defence of the “Copy log” every time. People note the imitation and have done for years. It is that which is childish and unimaginative.

    • I am running a campaign to preserve the English language, Russell! This is at risk when somebody (a “blogger”) sees a post here, rushes to find the source of the story and then uses Google to translate and comes up with:
