A couple of Carnival dates have been announced:

Estreito de Câmara de Lobos will celebrate Carnival on February 19th, at 4 pm, with a cortejo trapalhão that promises a lot of entertainment in the town. A Cortejo Trapalhão Madeirense is a procession in which the popular get together in small groups and, as a rule, contest some political decisions, disguise themselves as public figures, remember some traditions, etc.

After the parade, there will be a musical moment with Thelma Relva & Fénix Band.

Carnival dates 1

After two years, the centre of Caniço will once again be filled with revelry on the 21st of February with the famous allegorical parade which, as is its hallmark, promises to draw dozens to the town.

The troupes will start around 4 pm for an afternoon that is expected to be full of colour and animation in the streets of the parish.

It should also be noted that, on that same day, the Queen of Batucada will also be elected.
