The Madeira News website, with its automated news feed incorporating Google translate, has picked up a report that Portuguese international footballer Cristiano Ronaldo was distinguished yesterday at the Quinas de Ouro 2022 gala, together with coaches José Mourinho and Abel Ferreira, and declared his desire to be present at the 2022 World Cup and the EUFA Euro 2024.

Ronaldo, currently playing for Manchester United, received the award for having become the top scorer of national teams, guaranteed that his path “has not ended yet”, so he wants to participate in the Qatar World Cup, between November 20 and December 18, and at Euro2024, in Germany.

Madeiran-born Ronaldo said “My path is not over yet, they will take a little more load from Cris. I still feel motivated, my ambition is up there. I am in a team with many young players with an extraordinary future. I want to continue to be part [of the team] at the [Qatar] World Cup and at the [2024] European Championships, I assume. I already missed receiving an award”, said the ‘captain’ of the ‘quinas’ main team, for which he counts a total of 117 goals in 189 games

The 37-year-old Ronaldo became the top scorer at international level on September 1, 2021, when he surpassed the figure of 109 goals scored by the already retired Iranian Ali Daei, in the meeting with the Republic of Ireland, in Estádio Algarve, where he scored a ‘bis’ in the final stretch of the qualifying match for the 2022 World Cup.

At the ceremony that took place in Cidade do Futebol, in Oeiras, coaches José Mourinho, winner of the first edition of the Europa Conference League at the helm of the Italians from Roma, and Abel Ferreira, two-time champion of the Libertadores Cup with Palmeiras, from Brazil, received an award each .

      • Steve, Would you like to hazard a guess as to how many people have died as a direct result of the Covid vaccine with a post mortem showing this as the reason on the death certificate, with the Coroner’s agreement. Then tell me how you reached that total. I don’t need your thoughts on the future death rate just the number that has occurred up to now.
