Portugal backs Ukraine’s candidacy for the EU.
Diário de Notícias on the mainland reports that Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Portugal for supporting Ukraine’s candidacy for the European Union.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked each of the 27 heads of state or government gathered in Brussels at the European summit, where they granted Ukraine’s Candidate Status, in the long process of accession to the European Union.
In an intervention by videoconference, for the European Council, from Kiev, Zelensky said he believed that the “positive ties” with the Portuguese government would strengthen and thanked the support given to Ukraine’s candidacy.
“Portugal is with us. Thank you, Prime Minister. Your country knows our people well. I am sure that we will only increase the positive ties between us”, said the Ukrainian president, in his speech to Brussels, moments after the decision was made known. of 27.
Later, in a press conference, the Portuguese Prime Minister, António Costa promised to “continue to strengthen the bilateral cooperation that we have established”, with Ukraine, “namely in technical support in support of this candidacy process”.
“Portugal, as President Zelensky said, will continue to provide support” in the accession process, said Costa, referring to the brief words of the Ukrainian head of state.
The Portuguese prime minister hopes that it will be “a process conducted in a loyal, committed and correct way”, as “the attribution of this candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova constitutes an enormous responsibility for the European Union, not to create false expectations, of not generating frustrations that will necessarily be a bitter future in our relationship”.
Now that a new chapter towards accession is opening, António Costa wants to see the expectations created in the people of the two countries accompanied by “responsibility” on the European side.

So, to get back to the article, this is about Portugal supporting a country that has been invaded and whose towns, cities and people are being systematically destroyed by another country. Your comments seem to suggest that you are against Ukraine defending itself. Interestingly, and very tellingly, you express no disapproval at the country that invaded, using military force and supporting the very arms dealers you decry.
Ukraine has always been known for its oligarchs, corruption and persecution of political opponents.
“The European Thailand on the Dnieper” – and that also includes prostitution.
Zelensky as a comedian exposed this in a long running TV series. It is available on Youtube.
Some time later that was the reason why he got elected by decent voters, but unfortunately he failed in the struggle against all that.
Let us hope that Zelensky has come out of this war more determined and even more supported.

We fist bought BTC when we learned more about how the fraudulent debt-based fiat money system operates, and especially since it was only a few years after the 2008 crisis and later the Cyprus bank “heist”. It was much more of an “ideologically” driven act, rather than driven by any sort of “greed”. BTC is NOT perfect in any way. But it provides solutions to some of the problems of fiat money and even precious metals and other commodities. It has a limited supply, i.e. no more BTC can be printed/conjured out of thin air. Unlike fiat and metals, it can be easily moved and transacted with. Also, the owners hold the keys, giving them total control of the BTC wallets, as opposed to some bank or some storage vault. The list goes on. And for those who want truly and fully private transactions, Monero (XMR) is the best choice IMO.
2. I’m not “hard done” and still have much to learn. Our main current priorities is to have a Plan B (possibly in Mexico) in case the Euro Zone implodes. We need to learn more about gardening and permaculture, off-grid energy production, completely (not just partially) stepping out of the banking system and the political system, etc, etc, etc… Sometimes I feel like a teenager who’s journey has only just begun…

3. BTC is NOT the same as most other so-called “cryptocurrencies”. Many of those “altcoins” are centralized (such as ETH, who literally has a CEO). The latest example is Luna, which was a scam ponzi coin from the start. We never bought any, although I know a few “players” who made quite a bit of money before it got rug-pulled.

We started buying BTC in the early 2010s, mostly for ideological reasons (as itcost verry little in those early days), and never sold any EXCEPT when we needed to make a larger purchase, such as real estate. Some of the BTC (a small percentage) is held in a few dividend-paying schemes, which so far have proven 90% reliable and enough for a modest but decent monthly income, so we were able to free ourselves from “working for a living”, and working for ourselves instead. We never really expected BTC to go so far, and even if it implodes, we also don’t keep “all our eggs in one basket”. We always keep learning. Sometimes one needs a rocket, sometimes one needs a parachute. We try our best to have both.
