… unable to swim back from Ilhéu da Cal

The new Madeira News website, with its automated 24/7 news feed has picked up a report that a team from the National Maritime Authority in Porto Santo carried out the transport of two tourists who were stranded on the Ilhéu da Cal.
This afternoon, the captaincy of Porto Santo coordinated a rescue of two tourists who were in no physical condition to return to Ilha Dourada beach. The two adventurers swam from the Calheta beach area at the western end of Porto Santo to the Ilhéu da Cal, but ended up being stranded there, without the strength to make the return trip.
It took resources from the captaincy of Porto Santo, which, using an ANM lifeboat, ended up removing them from the Ilhéu. According to JM, the tourists are in good health. The Maritime Police took care of the occurrence.
