Popular Funchal bar may reopen next month
Just heard from Maurice Reed, letting readers know that Felipe Gomes, Ricardo’s step-son, is hoping to reopen the well known Bar ‘O Avö’ in the middle of Funchal on May 15th. The hugely popular Ricardo Sousa, forever associated with Bat ‘O Avö’ died suddenly in January this year.
Felipe still needs to raise some funds to pay gas, water, and electric bills and re-stock with supplies etc. Maurice thought a blog post announcing it might be a good idea – he will need to attract as many customers as possible!

Felipe is asking for friends of Ricardo if they can help by sending some funds to help with getting over the final hurdle to enable the reopening. All funds sent will be returned.
