According to the Portuguese Weather Institute, IPMA this morning, the sky today should generally be slightly cloudy.

The wind will blow moderate to strong (20 to 40 km/h) from the east, blowing strong (40 to 55 km/h) in the highlands with gusts up
to 70 km/h.

Temperatures should vary between 17.0°C and 22.0°C in Funchal and 16.0°C and 20.0°C in Porto Santo. The sea, on the North coast, should see waves from the Northeast, expected to be 1.5 to 2 metres, increasing to 2 to 2.5 metres. On the South coast, the waves will be 1 – 1.5 metres from the Southeast. Seawater temperatures are expected to be 18/19°C.

The Captaincy of the port of Funchal has issued the usual warning to the owners of vessels due to the bad weather and strong winds.
