Christmas events will be reviewed
The Diario reports on a very specific appeal to “please get vaccinated” by the Regional President Miguel Albuquerque, who said in Santo António this morning that the Regional Government has not, for the time being, planned a calendar to consider reintroducing restrictions.
However, he admitted that at the “end of this month” he will analyze the need for restrictions, with elements of the health authority and the City Council, together with the way in which certain festive events will be held, namely the Market Night or the usual festive activities on Avenida Arriaga.
The president showed his perplexity, with the word “incomprehensible”, due to the fact that a group of Madeiran citizens (he did not quantify the number), over the age of 50, continue to deny the vaccination, which is why he left the last appeal, reiterating that the Region awaits the authorization of European entities to start vaccinating children from 6 to 11 years old.
19 now in hospital, 5 in intensive care
