Now only 80 active cases
Yesterday saw just 4 new cases of Covid infection in the Autonomous Region recorded in the previous 24 hours, one being imported from the Lisbon/Vale do Tejo region, and three being attributed to local transmission.
In the latest daily report from the Institute of Health Administration IASAÚDE, there is also an indication of 11 patients classed as recovered, with the Region currently accounting for 80 active cases, of which 16 are imported and 64 are due to local transmission.
Both the number of new positives and the total currently active are at lows not seen since June – the previous “low-point” in the pandemic.
In total, throughout the pandemic, Madeira has identified 11,828 positive instances of Coronavirus, 11,673 of which have recovered. Unfortunately, there have been 75 deaths – although this is a small percentage of the positive cases, and has typically involved elderly people with complications.
Update October 13:
10 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were reported today in Madeira, just one of which was imported – from the Lisbon/Vale do Tejo region. There are 8 recovered cases, with the Region currently accounting for 78 active cases, of which 17 are imported and 61 are of local transmission.
Update October 14:
In the last 24 hours, another ten new cases of COVID-19 infection were registered. This is one case imported from the Netherlands and nine cases of local transmission. There are now 10 more recovered cases to report.
Update October 15:
The Region registered this Friday 5 new cases of covid-19 and 1 death, according to the daily update made by the Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection. This is 1 case imported from the Region from Lisboa/Vale do Tejo and 4 cases of local transmission. There are now 11 more recovered cases to report.
Regrettably, there is 1 death to report, the region now accounting, for a total of 76 deaths associated with COVID-19″,
Update October 16:
The Regional Health Directorate reported today eight new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection in Madeira. These are eight cases of local transmission. 5 more cases have recovered.
Update October 17:
The Regional Health Directorate today reported four new cases in the Region. This is 1 case imported from the United States of America and 3 cases of local transmission. 11 cases have been recorded as recovered.
Update October 18:
Health authorities registered 11 new cases of covid-19 infection in Madeira in the last 24 hours. These are 4 cases imported from Lisbon/Tagus Valley and 7 cases of local transmission. In the same period, 8 more recovered cases were registered.
Update October 19:
Today sees eight new cases of Coronavirus in the region. Two are from the Ukraine, one from Poland and 5 by local transmission. 5 cases have been classed as recovered.
Update October 20:
In the past 24 hours an additional 17 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection have been reported in Madeira. These are 3 imported cases (2 from Spain and 1 from the UK) and 14 of local transmission. There is also an indication of another 13 recovered cases
Update October 21:
Today sees 11 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection reported in Madeira. These are 1 case imported from Slovenia and 10 cases of local transmission. Today there are 7 more recovered cases to report. There are currently 81 active cases, of which 15 are imported cases and 66 are of local transmission
Update October 22:
Madeira announced this Friday another 17 positive cases of COVID-19. These are 4 imported cases and 13 cases of local transmission. There are now 12 more recovered cases to report.
Update October 23:
The Regional Directorate of Health indicates today that six new cases of COVID-19 were registered in the last 24 hours. Four are broadcast locally and the other two are imported from the UK. There are seven more recovered cases to report
