JM has usefully provided a comprehensive update on the situation with Covid in Madeira, using the latest statics released by the Institute of Health Administration IASAÚDE:
In the last 24 hours, the Region registered another 11 cases of new Covid infections, increasing the number to a cumulative 11,750 cases since the outbreak of the pandemic.
The daily bulletin of the Regional Health Department, issued yesterday afternoon, also reported 11 more cases of recovery, with the archipelago moving to a total of 11,550 recovered.
The latest 11 cases are three imported, two from the United States of America and one from the United Kingdom, and eight new infections from local transmission.
There are now 125 active cases, of which 20 are imported cases and 105 are local transmission.
Regarding the isolation of active cases, it should be noted that eight people are hospitalized at the main Dr Nélio Mendonça hospital in Funchal, seven in Polyvalent Units and one in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to Covid-19. 17 people are in isolation in a dedicated hotel unit – the Pestana Casino Studios – with the rest remaining in their own accommodation.
Covid deaths remain at 75
To date, the region accounts for a total of 75 deaths associated with Covid-19.
In total, there are 66 situations that are currently under consideration by the health authorities, these being related to travellers identified at the airport, contacts with positive cases or other situations reported to the SRS24 emergency contact number, or coming from the various testing posts in the Region.
Regarding active surveillance of contacts of positive cases, 254 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the various municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo.
With regard to the surveillance of travellers, 35,546 people are also being monitored by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
The total number of contacts for the SRS24 Line (800242420) now amounts to 64,763 calls and the Psychological Support Line of the Regional Health Department (291212399) has received 3,881 calls to date.
Update October 3:
In the last 24 hours, the Autonomous Region of Madeira has seen 14 more cases of positive covid-19 contagion. One of these came from France, another from Germany, with the remaining 12 being through local transmission. 11 cases were classified as recovered.
Update October 4:
Madeira today registered seven new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection and 16 recovered. There is one new case from Bulgaria and the rest through local transmission.
Update October 5:
The region registered this Tuesday 10 new cases of covid-19, three imported and seven of local transmission. According to the daily report by the Regional Directorate of Health, two cases are imported from Venezuela and one from the southern region of the mainland, and there are nine recoveries.
Update October 6:
Today there are 10 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection reported in RAM. These are 1 case imported from Lithuania and 9 cases of local transmission. There are 13 more recovered cases, with the Region accounting for 117 active cases, of which 22 are imported and 95 are of local transmission.
Update October 7:
The Region has today registered 11 new cases of covid-19 and 21 recovered cases in the previous 24 hours. “There are 11 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection reported in RAM, so the region now counts 11802 confirmed cases of COVID-19. There are 3 imported cases (2 from Germany and 1 from the United Kingdom) and 8 cases of local transmission.
Update October 8:
This Friday, the Region registered 7 new cases of COVID-19. These are 2 cases imported from the Region from Lisbon/Vale do Tejo and 5 cases of local transmission. There are 19 more recovered cases to report.
Update October 9:
The Region registered today, according to the Regional Directorate of Health, 8 new cases of covid-19. Three are imported from the UK. and the rest are due to local transmission. 17 more cases have recovered. There are 86 active cases to record. Six patients are admitted to the hospital dr. Nélio Mendonça but none in intensive care
Update October 10:
Today sees 7 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection reported in Madeira. These are 7 cases of local transmission.The Regional Health Directorate says that there are also six recovered cases.
