JM leads with a report that the Secretary of Sea and Fisheries admits that the future of aquaculture may involve the use of submerged cages. Teófilo Cunha reveals that a study is underway to solve the problem of visual impact of traditional aquaculture cages, which has led to them being rejected in several municipalities in the region.

The front page photograph once again features trees in Monte. Merchants and residents ask to cut down trees in Babosas, where plane trees with visible cracks are causing concern. The trees are marked by the Funchal City Council, but the municipality does not comment on the claim.
