Pandemic restrictions: new decisions today

JM reports that on the sidelines of the June 10 ceremonies in Madeira which took place yesterday morning at Praça da Autonomia, the president of the Regional Government admitted new changes to the restrictions due to the pandemic.

Miguel Albuquerque told journalists who attended the initiative that “probably tomorrow”, new decisions will be taken.

The Diario speculates that the curfew may be moved from midnight to 1:00 am, which the President later confirmed to the local radio station Antena 1.

A new tab has been added to the top of each page with a link to resources dealing with COVID-19 in Madeira – this covers the latest government regulations on travel to the island, how to get a PCR test, and many other links that will be useful to people wanting to travel to and from Madeira

  1. and I’m not sure what adding an hour to the curfew does – just encourages the youngsters to congregate longer in their usual spots. You wonder if the Portugal days crowds (with little social distancing from all the photo I’ve seen) will result in more cases?
