Porto Santo ferry adds sailings

Tests now required to return to Madeira

Porto Santo ferry

Porto Santo Line announced yesterday afternoon that it will make an extra round-trip on the 4th of July (Sunday), in order to “present alternatives to passengers”. This is in addition to the scheduled sailing.

The times will be as follows:
Funchal-Porto Santo:
8:00 and 16:30 (extra)
Porto Santo – Funchal:
13:00 (extra) and 20:00

To change tickets (which are exempt from the respective fee), customers should go to the Porto Santo Line counters on Avenida do Mar and Madeira Communities or on Estrada Monumental, in Funchal, or contact the number 291 210 300 (Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 12:30 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm).

Test now required to return from Porto Santo

A quick reminder to those who missed it – according to a new Regional Government resolution, from the 19th of June a rapid antigen test is required for passengers returning to Madeira from Porto Santo. These are available at a number of locations including the health centre on the island.

A new tab has been added to the top of each page with a link to resources dealing with COVID-19 in Madeira – this covers the latest government regulations on travel to the island, how to get a PCR test, and many other links that will be useful to people wanting to travel to and from Madeira

  1. That is a good point about requiring a test to return to Madeira from Porto Santo – it has not been fully publicised and caught some people out when they turned up for the ferry last week.
