Jet2 have just announced that due to the ongoing “uncertainty and travel restrictions” caused by Covid, the company has taken the decision to extend the suspension up to and including March 25th, 2021.

The company said it will be cancelling affected bookings with a full refund.

A spokesperson said: “Due to the ongoing uncertainty and travel restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we have taken the decision to extend the suspension of flights and holidays up to and including 25th March 2021.

“Where customers yet to travel are affected by any programme changes, our approach to providing smooth and speedy refunds has been widely praised, and we will be automatically cancelling affected bookings with a full refund.

“Since the onset of the pandemic, we have always respected that customers should receive their money back if we have not provided their flight or holiday.

“We know that customers will remember this approach, and the way we have looked after them will play an important part in our long-term strategy to continue to grow successfully and become the UK’s Leading and Best Leisure Travel business.”

Jet2 said the demand remains high for flights and holidays from their ten UK bases.

The spokesperson continued: “Our customers work hard and save hard for their holidays, and we are very excited to take them away on holiday again.

“For customers due to travel from 26th March onwards, we will provide further updates closer to the time as appropriate.

“We would like to thank our valued customers for their patience and understanding.”

Jet2 announce flights to Lisbon

Ironically the company had just announce that both the airline Jet2.com and the tour operator Jet2holidays will operate flights and tour packages to Lisbon from Manchester and Birmingham, starting in September.

The airline will start operations with two flights a week from Manchester, on Mondays and Fridays, from 3 September to 29 October, according to the British press.

Birmingham operations, in turn, begin with flights on Thursdays and Sundays, from 30 September to 28 October.

Jet2’s schedule also includes flights to Lisbon in winter, from 4 November to 24 March from Manchester and from 1 November to 25 March from Birmingham, as well as during the summer of 2022.

“With several weekly flights available for late summer, autumn and during winter 21/22 and summer 22, we offer customers and independent travel agents all the flexibility to meet their budgets and needs,” said the CEO of Jet2, Steve Heapy, quoted in the news.
