Rua Virgílio Teixeira officially opened tomorrow

New access road in the port of Funchal will be called Rua Virgílio Teixeira

FN report that a new road in the port of Funchal, to be named Rua Virgílio Teixeira, will be opened tomorrow. The President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, will visit at 12:30 pm, to officially open the new connection road between Praça CR7 and Lota do Funchal in the port ”Rua Virgílio Teixeira”.

The new road, with a length of 268 metres, improves road accessibility within the port between the North Pier and the South Pier, specifically at Pier 6 (the northern terminal of the Port of Funchal).

It also facilitates accessibility to the Roll-On / Roll-Off ramp, allowing the relocation of dedicated traffic to this “internal” road to the port, freeing both the Harvey Foster roundabout and its access when waiting for a ferry.

Also mention, with regard to pedestrian circulation, the creation of sidewalks and circulation corridors with special flooring. The type of floor of the pedestrian circulation circuit takes into account a smooth and smooth rolling base, guaranteeing conditions for wheelchairs, prams and for the use of wheeled hand luggage, avoiding irregularities, rolling noises, and other unwanted effects.

The work cost €198,333

Thank you for your time in making your articles and posts. It is a nice resource to learn on Madeira first to visit with the strong idea of my wife and I moving to.
With current state of world and my country, it will be awhile.
However I am appreciative of the virtual view of Madeira. I needed to thank you for that, especially now. The link to the webcams so fun.
