95 active cases currently
The Autonomous Region of Madeira today reported six new cases of COVID-19, taking the total of active cases to 95, since there are also two recovered. 88 are “imported” cases and 7 by local transmission.
According to the daily report of the epidemiological situation in the Region, issued by the Institute of Health Administration IASAÚDE, the 6 imported cases are 2 from the Czech Republic, 1 from Poland, 1 from Spain, 1 from the United Kingdom and 1 from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region.
Update October 12:
Today there are two new positive cases of COVID-19 to report, so RAM now counts 285 confirmed cases in regional territory.
These are two imported cases from Poland. There is also a record of two new recovered cases, with RAM now accounting for 190 recovered cases of COVID-19. There remain 95 active cases.
Update October 13:
Today there are 5 new positive cases to report, so Madeira now records 290 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the regional territory. These are 5 imported cases, 3 from Venezuela, 1 from the United Kingdom and 1 from the Northern Region of Portugal.
There is 1 new recovered case reported and 12 situations that are currently being studied by health authorities.
Update October 14:
Today there another 5 new positive cases to report, so the Region now totals 295 confirmed cases of covid-19 since the outbreak started. These are 5 imported cases, 4 from the United Kingdom and 1 from Spain.
There are also 18 situations that are currently being studied by health authorities. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
Update October 15:
Today there are nine new positive cases to report, so Madeira now counts 304 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the regional territory.
One is a case of local transmission (associated with a recently diagnosed case) plus eight imported cases (two from the United Kingdom, two from Poland, two from Brazil, one from Switzerland and one from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region).
There are also five new cases recovered. The IASAÚDE report released a few moments ago also refers to 21 situations that are currently being studied by health authorities.
Update October 16:
Today there are 6 new positive cases to report. These are all imported cases, 2 from the United Kingdom, 2 from Scotland, 1 from Belgium and 1 from Venezuela. There are 8 new recovered cases to be registered and 9 situations that are currently being studied by health authorities.
Update October 17:
Just three more cases today – all imported from Italy, Holland and Lisbon/Tagus valley. 12 patients have recovered, so the total active cases are 95.
