The Cliff Bay, Porto Mare and The Residence reopen next month

After the reopening of the Hotel PortoBay Falésia, in the Algarve, the Porto Bay Group reopens in Madeira on July 4. The Cliff Bay and Les Suites at The Cliff Bay, both with five stars, and Porto Mare (photo) and The Residence, with four stars, will open their doors with due safety and hygiene measures and the guarantee of the ‘Clean & Safe’ seal by Turismo de Portugal.

The resumption of tourist activity in Madeira, albeit with some security measures, dictates the reopening of doors of the Group’s hotel units, this being an opportunity to visit the emblematic Portuguese island and enjoy a holiday without the usual tourist frenzy, enjoying of the PortoBay group offer for couples, families or groups of friends.

According to a note sent by the Madeiran hotel group, The Cliff Bay hotel is the flagship of the Porto Bay group in Madeira, with an excellent location, on top of a natural promontory, which guarantees a genuinely peaceful stay and full of well-being, in an environment of luxury and charm. Direct access to the sea, the Il Gallo d’Oro restaurant with 2 Michelin stars, the gardens with numerous corners and secular palm trees, as well as the saltwater pool, are some of the details that complete the picture with the magnificent view of the bay of Funchal.

In addition to this iconic project, since the end of 2019, Les Suites at The Cliff Bay has 23 luxury suites for an experience that combines comfort, tranquility and history through elegant suites and a new concept of restoration, Avista. “Two centuries-old houses and a new wing are connected by beautiful gardens, an infinity pool and the unique views of the sea and the famous bay of Funchal guarantee a dream experience. Attached to The Cliff Bay, it allows guests to enjoy access to all the facilities of the emblematic hotel ”, highlights the press release.

Porto Mare and The Residence are both part of the Vila Porto Mare resort, “perfect for a more family and relaxed experience”, says the Porto Bay Group, noting that this four-star resort overlooks the ocean with an extensive garden area tropical, several restaurants with different gastronomic concepts, bars, ice cream parlor, five swimming pools, Spa, sports fields and specific environments for children. The Residence consists of studios, T1 and T2 apartments, all with kitchenettes included. The resort is on the Lido’s Promenade, 50 meters away from the sea.

In addition to the ‘Clean & Safe’ certificate from Turismo de Portugal, and in view of the current pandemic, the Portuguese Group, headquartered on the island of Madeira and 12 hotels in Portugal, Porto Bay Group went further and created an “internal committee responsible for the implementation, certification, training and auditing of the action plan considered essential for the reopening of hotels ”, says the hotel group, which integrates the recommendations of WHO and national health authorities.

With the Clean & Safe certificate from Turismo de Portugal, Porto Bay developed the ‘Together We Care’ hygiene and safety protocol that combines rigour with that which is the main mission of the Group: providing a memorable experience to its guests.

Jet2 flying from July 15

Due to the ongoing uncertainty caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Jet2 have announced that they have decided to recommence their flight programme on 15 July 2020. Travelling before this date will be affected as our flights won’t be operating, but they can rebook without an admin fee.
