New hospital – new tenders

… as no submissions meet the Government’s criteria

The Diario reports that the tender for the construction of the new hospital in Madeira did not receive any acceptable proposal after seven entities had qualified after the first phase of submissions. The regional government says that the failure to submit proposals after the initial tender in January this year was due to two factors: the COVID-19 pandemic context and the fact that the competitors’ budgets were above the base price defined in the tender, which was €205.9 million.

However, the Government has given a guarantee that a new tender procedure will be launched later this year.

New hospital – work to start in first half of 2021
