One more positive case

Total cases now 44

One more positive case 1JM reports that at today’s daily news conference on COVID-19, the regional health authority IASAÚDE have announced that they have registered just one more positive case in the last 24 hours, after having seen zero in the same period previously. There are 44 positive cases registered so far.

The new case concerns a resident, aged between 20 and 30 years old, who was quarantined at home after returning to the Region after a trip to the Lisbon/Vale do Tejo region.

The announcement was made by the Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection, Pedro Ramos, at the daily press conference that is promoted to take stock of the situation of the pandemic in the Region.

At Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, two people remain hospitalized.

  1. Thanks for keeping everybody in touch with happenings in Madeira in these difficult times – it is good to have some serious reporting. It is strange that some social media sites are treating quarantine as a funny matter.
