Temperatures begin to fall

South coast of Madeira, where cooler temperatures are expectedIt will get cooler today, after three days of hot weather in the archipelago, particularly on the southwest coast of Madeira where maximum temperatures were recorded close to 30 degrees centigrade and average temperatures above 24 degrees. Carnival Tuesday is reported to have started with cooler, milder temperatures.

Although at dawn Funchal, Ponta do Sol/Lugar de Baixo and Ponta do Pargo recorded air temperatures above 20 degrees, the preceding night stopped being tropical with the gradually cooler temperatures felt with the advance of dawn, having the lowest temperature high marked 17.9 degrees, recorded in Ponta do Sol.

This morning, at 10:00 am, Ponta do Pargo recorded the maximum air temperature with 22 degrees. The second-highest recorded was at the Funchal Lido weather station which recorded 21.1 degrees.
