70 traffic accidents in 7 days

Significant increase in drink-driving 1JM report on figures released by the Regional Command of the Public Security Police of Madeira yesterday, showing that between November 29 and December 5, a total of 70 traffic accidents were recorded in Madeira.

This week’s road accident balance registered a slight increase in the main indicator, with 13 more accidents occurring, although there was a decrease in the number of minor injuries from 24 to 12 and the absence of fatalities, said the PSP in their weekly statement.

“Regarding the traffic inspections carried out by PSP, we recorded a significant increase in the number of arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol, with a total of 11 arrests (3 in Funchal, 2 in Câmara de Lobos, 3 in Calheta, 1 in São Vicente and 2 in Santa Cruz). There were also multiple offences for violating various Road Codes.
