LGBTI movement calls on politicians

Madeira Pride wants to discuss LGBTI issues with politicians

LGBTI movement calls on politicians 1According to the FN website, the movement behind the Madeira Pride event has called for political debate for the LGBTI + cause. In this election year, they claim there is still much to be done on issues of equality, inclusion, health and education for homosexuals, lesbians, bisexual, trans, intersex and other orientations, identities and expressions of non-binary genres throughout the region.

They want to know what the different parties think about the various forms of discrimination suffered by this population? What concrete measures do they have for the pursuit of respect for human rights and full equality with other fellow citizens? Which projects offer space for communication, training and protagonism in the political debate on sexual and gender diversity in the region?

The movement has announced that these questions, and many more, can be answered by representatives of the political parties and coalitions on September 12, from 6.30 pm, in a public session, in the auditorium of the Regional Archive and Public Library of Madeira.

Their Facebook page is here.
