Fog affects Lisbon and Porto airports

Mainland airports have low visibility

The Journal reports this afternoon that fog is currently affecting airport operations in both Lisbon and Porto, causing delays to some flights, according to both airports authority, ANA, and national flag carrier, TAP. “The very low visibility weather conditions observed at Lisbon airport this morning forced, for safety reasons, a greater spacing of planes in the airspace, creating operational constraints and flight delays”, ANA – Airports official source told press agency Lusa.

However, the same source points out, “the positive evolution of the weather situation” will allow “the gradual recovery of normality in operations”. The airline TAP also warned on its Facebook page of delays at the airports of Lisbon and Porto that, “due to heavy fog”, could exist throughout the day, saying that some flights may be “diverted” to other national airports”.
