“The New Year’s firework display on the Portuguese island of Madeira one of the regions’ greatest tourist attraction of the year, will involve 19 tonnes of pyrotechnics, almost 40,000 shots and an organisation of over 400 people, organisers said last Tuesday.

The Christmas and New Year festivities are to cost some €3.5m …considerably less however (-33%) than in 2010.

  1. Looks like next year i 15th February – Festivities in the Lower Town 18th February – Great Allegoric Parade 21th February – Fun Parade. The dates will coincide the sad day Madeira flood. Lets hope 2012 Madeira will have a positive Festivities, as well as not forget the events with the people lost.
