In December, while most of Europe is in a grey and wintery mood, Madeira warms up with some of the most avant-garde musicians in the world.

Featuring a stunning line-up, a stunning landscape and pleasant spring temperatures, the Madeiradig 2011 is an intimate festival on the mystic, volcanic island of Madeira.

  1. Leaders and bankers of the Europe should have taken note from..Christopher Columbus .Riches don’t make a man rich, they only make him busier. Lets hope they remember in the distance future for all.

  2. Questions: Is the average British person losing the ability to walk?
Are they evolving physically as the lower limbs are no longer needed?
Are their brains evolving so as not to recognise un familiar species?

Is this due to their lifestyle, social environment, society and life in general in todays “British” society? Coconed in their homes, cars, and shopping centres (buying clothes for a journey in a block of flats) whilst slumped in front of TV’s, computers and in fast food outlets, surrounded by similar tribal members, using fleets of local buses and their cars they don’t seem to walk very much …….. and even if they do, they have to resort to the “mobility” electric chairs in the modern day shopping centres…..

I mention the above because of my recent Doctors Observations whilst doing the rounds in Funchal – this whilst observing (from a safe distance and in local mufti) the 3,000 odd (sic) plus specimens, recently disembarked from a floating block of apartments. They were seen to be aimlessly waddling along, from one large beer stop to the next, tottering between various fast food outlets also and some shops, collecting bags and future food/drink supplies. They appeared to stagger around the city, rather unable to progress at a decent pace or even in a straight line and appeared to have difficulty in seeing the local population, as they bashed and banged their way along the pavements – perhaps they don’t recognise other species? They nearly all seemed to be grossly overweight and have difficulty in walking normally. They had to rely on some form of support, to help them walk and their lowers limbs appeared unco-ordinated with their upper limbs seemingly “flapping in the breeze”. Grosly overweight and some even perched on U.K. “shopping centre” electric chairs (I wish) with wheels, scattering the defenceless local peoples aside, as they progressed in a haphazard fashion to the next watering/eating hole…….

So, my dear students, has U.K. society changed so very much that it is now evolving (retarding) to eventually produce limbless, mindless and feckless peoples?

Topic for discussion, today…….the above observations, unbiased and an individual view based on a small sample – some 3,000 “people”.
