Taking a break from local news today, and to brighten up or otherwise a couple of grey days, the madeira4u blog news research team has gone worldwide to report weird stories of the week.
1. The story about an indian man who married a stray dog (bitch). Under advice from a guru, after having stoned a dog to death and suffering with bad luck ever since, our subject took the vows. Seemingly the dog did not take the vows seriously, as she decided to do a runner during the wedding reception.
2. The Indonesian man who is turning into a tree. This is weird and slightly spooky. This guy cut himself sometime ago and got infected. As a result he now has something like tree root growing out of his hands and feet, and they are not small! Some American doctor is optomistic about finding a cure, and I hope so as it looks absolutely terrible on the pictures on The Daily Telegraph website. I wonder how he manages to get his clothes on?
3. The Scottish guy who got a 3 year suspended sentence and is now on the sex offenders register for having sex with his bicycle! It seems he got caught with his pants off with his bike in a hotel room, and the manager called the police. Its some sort of weird hotel that allows guests to take their bike to their hotel room anyway.
4. A story from the UK, about a woman who drops her son off at school every day and then drives to another spot 2 miles away from her home to collect her cat. It seems that the cat goes out everyday and never comes home, but is always waiting in the same spot at the same time 2 miles away, ready to be picked up.
5. A british couple wishing to emigrate to live in New Zealand are having a few problems. The husband is there enjoying his life, but the authorities won’t let his wife join him because she is too fat!
Don’t see much of this sort of stuff in the local Madeiran newspapers, so I will keep an eye out for more.
